Maruti Extended Warranty

It's a written guarantee from the manufacturers to repair or replace defective parts for a limited period. A warranty is a legal document.

It’s a special warranty given to Maruti customer for certain crucial parts of the car on a payment of a small amount.

  1. Any vehicle manufactured by Maruti will be eligible for warranty coverage (primary warranty) for 2 years or 40,000 km whichever comes earlier.
  2. Customers have the option of extending the warranty (primary warranty) to Third Year / 60,000 km or Fourth Year / 80,000 km by paying a nominal amount.
  3. Validity of the Extended warranty would be as per the plan chosen by the customer.
  4. There are two options – Plan 1 & Plan 2

  1. Peace Of Mind : Customer can feel reassured that she/he is covered in the event of any unexpected vehicle failure.
  2. Increasing Customer’s Confidence : Customer sees that the manufacturer is very confident of the quality of their product.
  3. Building Customer Relationship : Enhanced customer satisfaction brings in more smiles.
  4. Better re-sale value : Even if the vehicle is sold before 4 years.

  1. Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic Components : Engine, transmission, steering, suspension, fuel system, brake system, air conditioning, electrical components, ECM, etc.
  2. Not Covered : Radiator, differential backlash, humming noises, tyres, batteries, periodic maintenance items like oils, filters, spark plugs, body parts, clutch, etc.
  3. Limited Coverage : Suspension, steering, AC compressor & drive shaft covered for 60,000 Kms only.

  1. The vehicle must not have been used for competition or racing.
  2. The vehicle must not have met with an accident.
  3. The vehicle must not have been modified or altered, including without limitation, the installation of performance accessories.
  4. The vehicle must not have been fitted with any parts or accessories not approved by Maruti
  5. The vehicle must not have been assembled, disassembled, adjusted or repaired by other than authorized dealer/ service station.
  6. The vehicle must not have been used for purpose other than what it was designed.
  7. Any damage or deterioration caused by industrial pollution and bird droppings.
  8. Insignificant defects which do not affect the function of the vehicle including without limitation, sound, vibration and fluid seep etc.
  9. Any natural wear & tear including without limitation, aging etc.
  10. Vehicle externally fitted with LPG & CNG kits cannot be covered under extended warranty.
  11. In case LPG/ CNG is company fitted the vehicle can be covered under extended warranty.

This is limited list of important items not covered.

  1. Normal maintenance service required, including without limitation, oil and fluid changes headlight aiming, fastener retightening, wheel balancing, wheel alignment and tyre rotation, cleaning of injectors, adjustment of carburetor, ignition timing, clutch and valve clearance.
  2. The replacement of normal wear parts including without limitation, bulbs, battery, tyres, tubes, spark plugs, brake linings. Internal parts of break master cylinder, belts, hoses, filters, wiper blades and brushes.
  3. Any seals and Gasket replaced or refitted as part of normal-schedules.
  4. Clutch, radiator, catalytic converter, muffler and differential backlash under any circumstances .
  5. Humming noise in any component.
  6. Replacement of timing belts as per recommended interval.
  7. Trims, wheel rim, rubber parts, tyres & tubes, glass machine, all body parts etc.
  8. Any repair or replacement required as a result of accident or collision.
  9. Paintwork, bodywork and mouldings, water entry into the vehicle, corrosion of body parts, glass, lenses, lock cylinder & key & interior trims.

In the event of the occurrence of the breakdown the owner must

  1. Immediately take all steps necessary to minimize the extent of loss.
  2. Depending on whether the vehicle is in a condition enabling it to be driven, the owner shall drive it or have it towed, without delay, to the nearest Maruti Dealer at his own cost to effect repair according to the dealer/ Marutis requirements and to notify the dealer of this warranty contract number.
  3. Authorized the dealer to establish the cause of breakdown.
  4. Undertake to pay the cost of dismantling and repairing the vehicle if the cause of the breakdown is not covered by this warranty. The owner is responsible for paying for any other work that the owner asks the repairer to carry out.
  5. The service record and service bills must be made available to the workshop personnel.

  1. The vehicle must have been serviced as per guidelines in the service manual from authorized dealer/ Maruti authorized service station
  2. Make certain the extended warranty registration was completed at the time of applying for extended warranty.
  3. Make certain that the Maruti authorized dealer/ service station performing the service inspection has certified the work on the
  4. Maintenance Service Record’ page in the Maruti Owner’s manual and Service Booklet.
  5. Present the Maruti Owner’s Manual and Service Booklet to the authorized Maruti dealer whenever requesting service inspections or warranty service.
  6. If the ‘Owner’s Manual and Service Booklet’ should be lost or destroyed, the owner should consult the authorized Maruti dealer from whom the vehicle was purchased for instruction concerning replacement of the ‘Owner’s manual and the Service Booklet’.

Eligibility for Availing Maruti Insurance

  • Only Maruti Vehicles can be insured.
  • Vehicles should not be more than 7 years old at the
  • Once insured under M I their renewal can be done throughout the life of the vehicle.

Zero Depreciation Policy

  • We now have a special option of Zero Dep. Cover in Maruti Insurance policy which offers you complete peace of mind.
  • At the time of a claim on a normal policy you have to bear depreciation charge - it is 50% on plastic parts and upto 50% on Metal parts depending upon the age of the vehicle. This is a significant amount and sometimes runs in thousands.
  • With this Zero Dep. Policy you are completely free from all such charges.
  • Another thing, you cannot add it at a later stage. Either you go for it now or next option is only at the time of renewal. Also, you can go for it only till your vehicle is 30 months old.
  • We have customers who did not opt for it initially and wanted to pay even double the premium to buy it when there was a claim. But unfortunately it is not permitted in between like other endorsements.
  • With Zero Dep. Policy you are fully covered - only policy excess and small charges for Consumables would be payable which is mandatory as per tariff.
  • We would therefore strongly recommend you go for Zero Dep. Policy.
